Your Opportunity Youth on Track offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of 10 to 17-year-old offenders at high risk of re-offending. By working with young people who have already encountered the justice system but have not yet received supervised orders, you'll play a crucial role in breaking the cycle of reoffending.
Utilizing cutting-edge tools from the Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) and Mission Australia's National Case Management Approach, you'll deliver intensive, person-centered support tailored to each individual's unique strengths and needs.
This role goes beyond traditional case management—it's about creating transformative, strength-based support plans, leading engaging group sessions, and empowering young people to take charge of their futures.

Your key responsibilities will be to: Provide culturally sensitive and responsive case management sessions. Implement Mission Australia's National Case Management Approach. Support the Program Manager in conducting staff meetings and providing information on case management development and service delivery. Supervise a small team of case workers to offer tailored advice and support with appropriate engagement strategies. Assist clients with brief therapeutic interventions and make referrals to suitable services. Develop holistic, strength-based individual support plans using SMART goals. Refer clients to supplementary services as needed. Respond to referrals from internal and external support services. Conduct phone and face-to-face assessments of client suitability for support. Manage initial client registrations, including all necessary paperwork and application forms. Induct clients into the service, covering property, facilities, financials, and regulations. Complete a range of administrative tasks, including statistics, reports, referral letters, and goal plans. Requirements for Success Relevant university degree with relevant experience or other appropriate qualifications or experience acceptable to Mission Australia to perform the role. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and expert advice to employees at lower levels. Demonstrated professional approach to the role including maintaining professional boundaries. A positive and person-centered approach with a strong guiding belief about everyone's capacity to self-right and grow within and beyond their current circumstances. An understanding from combined lived experience and professional development about factors that support recovery and a proven ability to use this to positively support others on their recovery journey. Has a sound understanding of Mission Australia's Values and Code of Conduct and applies these in their role when interacting with other internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and supervise the implementation of educational and/or development programs for clients. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant policy and legislation. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including highly developed administrative skills and the ability to provide support to management of a complex nature. Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
