A full-time 12-month fixed-term opportunity has become available for a Team Leader Health and Fitness to join the team at Lords Recreation Centre.
Key responsibilities Develop working relationships with key community groups and organisations to effectively engage a variety of stakeholders to increase participation rates. Conduct regular preventative maintenance on equipment as per schedule. Undertake Gym Instructor duties as required during busy times and leave cover. Obtain quotes for the repair and/or replacement of relevant equipment as required and present to the Coordinator for approval. Plan annual maintenance and servicing programs and monitor all equipment ensuring it is clean, properly maintained and promptly serviced. Provide leadership, direction, guidance and support to the section. Provide training and guidance to staff in all aspects of daily operation. Establish work plans and monitor workflows to meet deadlines. Plan and prioritise projects and initiatives undertaken by the section, with accountability for achievement of outcomes. Develop staff rosters, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, consistent with annual budget and ensure payroll information is provided. To ensure all facilities are presented at the highest level of cleanliness and presentation at all times. To ensure all fitness equipment and surrounding fittings are safe, in good working order and that the gymnasium is hazard free at all times. To perform audits on a regular basis for cleanliness, risk prevention and maintenance purposes. Provide information and advice to staff, community organisations, business and residents on matters relating to Group Fitness services and the gym. Liaise with the Coordinator on matters likely to impact on service provision within the context of the gym environment. Be able to resolve conflict and create a positive environment in the gym. Develop regular promotional activities in the gym and group fitness to entice member engagement and retention. Sound knowledge of group fitness programming. Demonstrated well-developed supervisory and performance management skills. Demonstrated well-developed budgetary skills, including preparation, implementation and monitoring of section budgets. High level of organisational ability in planning, prioritising and achieving outcomes to deadlines. Experience in developing and implementing strategies to promote and expand group fitness and gym service delivery. Highly developed and proven interpersonal, written and verbal communication and influencing skills. Ability to use corporate computer systems. Certificate III and IV Health and Fitness. Relevant tertiary level qualification and/or relevant work experience. First Aid certificate. Current Police certificate. Working with Children Check. Driver's license. Salary range: From $77,532 to $83,127 per annum plus 11.5% employer superannuation and additional co-contribution to your superannuation.
