Team Leader Fire, Southern Ranges BranchOngoing full-time opportunities availableOffice location – Jindabyne or TumutPackage includes salary $120,859.00 to $133,183.00, employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loadingAbout the role National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Team Leader, Fire to work as part of the team in Southern Ranges Branch and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.
The role leads and manages a team and develops Branch program strategies, fire management operational planning, program delivery coordination, performance monitoring and review, and financial management related to the Branch Fire budget, the Bushfire Management Program (BMP) and other relevant fire operations projects at a Branch level. The role is responsible for providing leadership and strategy development for the Bushfire Management Program within the Branch.
About You You will have experience in leading and managing a team of fire and front-line staff coordinating and delivering the Bushfire Management Program (BMP) with Branch staff and supporting the agencies fire management objectives and legislative requirements, including operational planning and financial management.
In addition, you will have experience building meaningful relationships and effective communication with interagency staff and internal staff, whilst exercising sound judgement in managing operational issues and emergency response in consultation with the Branch management team and other fire and emergency services agencies to achieve consistent organisational outcomes.
Essential Requirements – Relevant qualifications and/or experience in fire and land management practices, with proven experience in delivering program outcomes and proven project management experience.Demonstrated experience in leading teams and delivering business change results.Willingness to work weekends and after hours as required and the ability and willingness to participate in the management of wildfire and other emergency incidents.Current Australian drivers' licence and willingness to fly in light aircraft.Who we are The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) works to protect the state's environment and heritage.
