The opportunity
The SRO is seeking a skilled and experienced risk and corporate governance expert to join our busy and dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a variety of risk and corporate governance activities throughout the organisation. If you have a strong background in risk and/or corporate governance, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to ensuring compliance and value for money outcomes, we want to hear from you.
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for:
Leading and managing a team responsible for the provision of accounts payable and accounts receivable services, corporate card coordination and monitoring, daily banking requirements and expense/allowance payments.Managing resource planning and administering and implementing HR policies for team members, e.g. leave attendance, performance management, training and development, recruitment.Leading, supporting, mentoring and training team members to ensure work activities are undertaken professionally and decisions are made in accordance with policies, procedures and legislation.Establishing and maintaining service delivery standards with an emphasis on continuous improvement and quality management principles.Developing and implementing financial strategies, policies and procedures and monitor organisational compliance.Who we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated people management skills to motivate, mentor, train and performance manage team members to achieve team/branch objectives.Proven financial management experience including accrual accounting, accounts payable and receivable processes with a practical understanding of public sector financial processes.Extensive knowledge of and experience using financial management systems preferably Oracle Financials or similar.Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills to analyse data, identify trends/issues and propose innovative solutions.Proven ability to build and maintain positive and effective stakeholder relationships both internally and externally to the SRO.How to apply
