About the role:

Responsible for leading the financial accounting team and ensuring effective management of the preparation, control, and monitoring of the Corporation's financial performance, and financial and statutory reporting. The role will require management and leadership while demonstrating and supporting the City of Unley's values when working with others including operational teams and the community.


Full-time permanent positionCollaborative and positive cultureOpportunity to participate in leadership professional developmentContributing to exciting growth and ongoing development projects within the Council Key Responsibilities: Ensure the Financial Accounting team meets its objectives and delivers services that achieve maximum value to their internal customers.Manage the transactional banking services and the Council's cashflow.Manage the rating, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions.Manage the existing financial systems, and design, develop and implement enhancements to meet business needs.Prepare the annual financial statements and liaise with the Council's external auditors.Play a key role in the development of the Annual Budget and Business Plan and Long-Term Financial Plan.Prepare and assist in the delivery of reports and presentations to Council, the Executive Leadership Team, and other key stakeholders.Develop collaborative relationships between the team and relevant internal and key stakeholders.Implement and lead project and change management within a financial accounting environment. About You: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business or Commerce.CPA or CA professional qualification (or equivalent).Extensive experience in a similar role leading and developing a team.A satisfactory National Criminal History Check.
