We are looking for someone who can lead a team through their Aquaculture knowledge, can do attitude, commercial awareness, and commitment to safety.
You will report to the Operations Manager, working with a passionate and resilient team to produce high quality, healthy and sustainable prawns for the seafood market.
Proserpine: Located on our prawn farm halfway between Airlie Beach and Bowen, you'll work in a stunning area.
And you'll be working a 2/2/3 roster (that's 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off) so you'll get a long weekend every 2nd week.
What does your week look like?
Pond Management: Effective pond management for a successful grow out through supervision of a team of Technicians.
Combination of 70% hands on and 30% office-based work.
Engage with all aspects of prawn culture including pond remediation, stocking, pond management, prawn health and harvesting.
Leading on safety: Lead and engage Farm team to drive a cohesive safety culture.
Supporting team: Support a multi-facet operational team including a strong focus on animal health, welfare, and water quality.
Timely and effective communication with team, management, and other internal stakeholders for a One Team approach.
Hitting targets: Leadership of the team to achieve daily operational targets.
Can do attitude and up for a challenge.
What can you bring?
Experience working in aquaculture or relevant qualifications (desirable).
Leadership skills / experience.
Strong communication skills and computer proficiency.
Driver's licence.
Rights to work full time in Australia.
Forklift, backhoe tickets desirable but not essential.
