What is the role? Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Team Leader Cloud Services.
This role provides a unique opportunity to lead a diverse team who maintain the AFP computing infrastructure as well as the on-going management and sustainment of cloud platforms – This includes Private and Public cloud platforms such as VMware Private Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
The team also provides secure and scalable designs of the AFP's foundation platforms to other internal AFP stakeholders to understand the business needs and works in partnership with Enterprise Architecture and Cyber Security to ensure on-going security of the cloud platforms.
What will you do? Work with industry leading products and technologies from VMware, Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services to manage cloud platforms, application deployments and security across various operational and corporate focused situations.Lead the cloud adoption for the organisation and deliver business focused cloud solutions based on corporate and operational needs.Lead the implementation of a FinOps framework across a hybrid cloud environment.Collaborate and assist senior management to assess, design and implement sustainable cloud solutions, operating processes and people models to address key and evolving risks in the field of Cloud.Analyse processes, documentation, and workflows to identify any gaps and prioritize process improvements based on current risk of components, whilst adding professional insight.Maintain currency with industry standards and trends across cloud adoption frameworks.Provide advisory, solution architecture, and consulting to internal projects of varying size.Assist in alignment of overall security governance as it relates to both Private and Public Cloud platforms.Essential Requirements: You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
An existing NV2 security clearance is preferred but not essential.Extensive experience leading the implementation and sustainment of VMware, Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services cloud platforms.Advanced experience with developing and implementing FinOps Frameworks.Advanced experience with developing and managing team backlog and prioritisation and stakeholder negotiations.Advanced experience within managing hardware platforms such as Hitachi, Dell etc that underpin private cloud platforms.Desirable Requirements: You are familiar with security concepts found in the ISM and the implementation of said concepts in a PROTECTED environment.You have a no-nonsense approach when participating in internal or external conversations and are able to communicate complex technical concepts, resolve issues and foster good relationships.You will be a hands-on and a pragmatic leader with experience managing teams.Additional Information: This position can be worked from any capital city in Australia but will report into the section based in Canberra, ACT.
Successful interstate applicants will be expected to travel to Canberra several times per year (at the AFP's expense), depending on the successful applicant's location they may be expected to work primarily from home.
