$166,115 – $182,053 per year plus 15% superWe have an exciting and unique opportunity for a Team Leader Builder Services to join Icon Water.This role has primary responsibility of leading the Builder Services team, ensuring that developer projects in the ACT meet our requirements for the protection of Icon Water's water supply and sewerage assets.About your new roleKey responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:Lead and manage the Builder Services Team.Investigate any interference to the water & sewer networks and provide reports on network protection.Prepare formal legal responses, with the assistance from the legal team, issuing Network Protection Notices and be responsible for the enforcement of these notices.Provide advice and assistance to other branches within Icon Water as directed by the Manager Urban Development Services.Manage customer information and associated obligations under the Utilities (Technical Regulation) Act 2014, ensuring compliance with the requirements of Division 5.2 part 31,32,33 of the Act.Assist in the preparation of invoices to recover costs for damage or interference to the water and sewer networks.Be the specialist and Authorised Officer for contractual obligations and services in relation to network protection and easement control.Ensure Network Protection Compliance submissions are processed by the Builder Services Team in compliance with the Building Approvals Process and that the process is reviewed and updated annually or as required.Review development and builder applications from Greenfield and Infill developments and provide advice to customers, certifiers, and designers on technical and encroachment issues.Investigate water and sewer easements requirements and prepare and formalise approval of extinguishment of water and sewer easements.Ensure the registering of all building approval applications on the network database and processing within prescribed KPIs. Ensure compliance with the requirements set out in applicable procedures, guidelines and work.Provide reports and KPIs for plan approvals monthly or when requested.Work closely with the Developer Services team and assist with matters involving acceptance of new water and sewer assets and protection of existing assets.Assist in the development and interpretation of Icon Water's Water Supply and Sewer standards and other legislative documents as required.Other duties within the employee's skill, competence and training.Our ideal candidate will possess:Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, preferably civil or mechanical with ability to achieve Chartered Professional status with Engineers Australia.Technical and subject matter knowledge and experience relating to Water and Sewage Network protection, easements and plan approvals.Understanding of the construction and operation of water and sewer networks.Previous experience in leading a work team and working with customers in the construction industry.Experience in the application of technical standards and legal and policy requirements within a water and sewerage utilities environment.Skills that demonstrate attention to detail, decisiveness, and integrity, demonstrating leadership by articulating clear strategies and fostering a collaborative team environment. Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on service orientation and time management.
