We are seeking an accomplished and performance-oriented Team Leader to provide guidance, mentorship and inspiration to a team of Aged Care Advocates covering Metro Sydney. If you excel in a fast-paced, client focused team environment and are dedicated to fostering excellence, this opportunity is ideal for you!The Team Leader Advocacy Services Metro Sydney, working alongside the Team Leader South West and Western Sydney, will lead the development, delivery and effectiveness of our advocacy services in the Sydney region to ensure the smooth delivery of the National Aged Care Advocacy Program. Working closely with the Manager, Advocacy Operations and Regional Services, this role will provide leadership to their team as well as manage and develop relationships and partnering opportunities with key stakeholders. Additionally, this role will work with their team to coordinate the provision of information and education sessions to residents of aged care homes, retirement villages, carers, health care professionals and other community organisations in Metro Sydney.Why work for Seniors Rights Service?Seniors Rights Service is a nonprofit organisation that provides free legal services, aged care advocacy and rights education and information to older people across New South Wales. As more older people seek aged care services, our organisation is continuously evolving to meet the expanding need for our services.If you have a natural talent for connecting with people, have relevant experience and want to work for an organisation dedicated to supporting one of the most vulnerable groups in our communities, we want to hear from you.Role ResponsibilitiesHave a deep understanding of relevant contracts and service agreements including ensuring program targets are met and develop and implement plans for improvement.Lead and manage individual staff and the team to achieve our vision and strategic goals through promotion of our values and setting exceptional standards with a focus on continuous improvement.Coach and mentor team members with the goal of promoting open communication, fostering self-reflection and self-improvement and helping them acquire new skills while honing their existing ones.Complete external and internal reporting in a timely manner ensuring the program meets contractual obligationsDevelop and maintain strong relationships with other service providers including aged care settings, key stakeholders and community service agencies to achieve positive client outcomes.Oversee the development and implementation of relevant program budgets in consultation with the Manager.Contribute to the development and maintenance of effective policies and procedures to ensure the smooth running of the advocacy program.Manage critical situations which occur in the advocacy program in the region.Represent Seniors Rights Service at relevant sector and interagency meetings ensuring a high profile is maintained.Some interstate travel may be required.Minimum Qualifications:Relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive and demonstrated experience in a people management position, including a strong interest in coaching and developing staff.Demonstrated experience in program management with a focus on continuous quality improvement.Adapts well to and can lead, drive and advocate change in a growing organisation.Ability to work under pressure, manage complex and often competing tasks and priorities and the ability to prioritise your own work to deliver results.Strong financial management skills including contract management, budgeting, monitoring expenditures and financial reporting.Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders.Skills in negotiation, teamwork, conflict resolution, decision making and problem solving.Highly proficient with technology and software including Microsoft Office 365.Demonstrated understanding of the rights of older people and the dynamics of ageism.Willing to use your own registered and comprehensively insured vehicle, where you will be reimbursed for work related mileage claims.Prepared to undertake and maintain an annual flu vaccination, National Criminal History check and NSW driver's license as a condition of employment.Why Join Us?Experience a collaborative and fun work culture in a growing organisation.Great flexibility with access to hybrid work arrangements.SCHADS Award Level 6 with Salary Packaging benefits.Enhanced leave provisions including gifted leave between Christmas and New Year.Feel good knowing you are working for an organisation with a strong social conscience and presence within our community.Interested in applying?If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit a cover letter addressing the Essential Criteria above along with your resume.Please apply immediately as this role may close before the specified closing date.Applications that do not include a cover letter addressing the Essential Criteria will not be considered.At Seniors Rights Service we seek a workforce that is as diverse as our society.
