About Cadia Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney.
Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit.
The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.
We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people, traditional custodians of the land surrounding Cadia, and proudly run an Indigenous Buddy Program to enrich the workplace experience of our Indigenous employees.

Who we're looking for Reporting to the Superintendent – Environment, the Team Lead – Rehabilitation and Closure will coordinate, schedule, and deliver on all land rehabilitation and closure management activities required for compliance, due diligence and where required ad hoc and planning approvals.
This will include the development of templates, the implementation of best practice and compliant monitoring activities, and the execution of safe monitoring programs.
Additionally, the team lead will provide technical expertise in the development and delivery of current and future monitoring requirements, contractor management and capacity building for team members.
This role includes responsive and reactive management, resource management, and data management and integrity.
Key responsibilities Compliance Rehabilitation Management Develops, manages, and schedules rehabilitation for all environmental approvals (State and Commonwealth) and other compliance-based considerations (including, but not limited to mine site rehabilitation, biodiversity offsets, and weed & pest management).Identifies resource requirements (people and equipment) to meet rehabilitation requirements that are known and requested by the business as needed.Supports and provides input into the design and delivery of the strategies, frameworks, policies, and practices for the workstream.Manages the Environmental Impact Permit (EIP) process.Identifies and implements improvement initiatives, implementation plans, and outcomes.Provides regular and as required updates regarding the progress of rehabilitation and manages the schedule to ensure redundancies, efficiencies, and manage risk as needed.Technical Accountabilities Promotes adherence to company policies and safe practices.Understands and can implement business systems management principles and change management processes.Coordinates data provision for internal and external regulatory and voluntary reporting as required and supports the business by ensuring data is available, reliable, and provided on time as required.Understands rehabilitation, offset, and closure requirements and NSW Govt and other industry standards and ensures all monitoring is compliant.Provides technical analysis and can convert complex material into easy to understand narratives to effect change.Adept at advocacy and negotiation as well as conflict resolution and risk identification, management, and mitigation.Understands and builds the capacity of others in monitoring software programs.Procurement and contractor management Engage and manage specialist contractors to assist with rehabilitation, offset management, and weed & pest management.Undertake competitive tendering processes to ensure the best return on investment for the business.You will also possess the following: A Bachelor of Environmental Science or Engineering (Environmental) or equivalent.Demonstrated experience in performing field studies and/or environmental impact statements.Practical knowledge of environmental rehabilitation and land management.Demonstrated capability in operating and maintaining an environmental management system, environmental risk registers, and management plans.Sound understanding of managing environmental compliance in plant operations and project execution.Incident investigation, auditing skills, data analysis, and report writing skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.Understanding of NSW planning and regulatory framework for State Significant Developments.Please note: This is a 5/2-4/3 Residential role in Orange, NSW.
