In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: You will be responsible for complete Project Life Cycle i.e. starting from inputs analysis, Design & Engineering, Testing & Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) followed by commissioning as per requirement.
Project Engineering: Collection and review of project inputs from the Front Office or from the customer site through e-mail, kick off meeting, site surveyLeading and executing DCS and SCADA based ECMS greenfield and retrofit projectsGuiding team to implement controls from SAMA, functional diagrams or functional descriptions; modifications of DCS/SCADA graphics; creation of faceplate macros, control macros and their testingCreation/modification of DCS internal point database; extraction of HW IO list from customer drawings; preparation of database; querying with HW team and customer for any clarifications neededPreparation and guiding the team on IO list and DBIDComplete knowledge of building blocks of DCS system like various logic algorithms and their testingImplementation of analogue and digital simulation logic for first-pass and tie-back simulation testing of implemented controls and graphicsGuide the drafting of HW engineering drawings like system architecture, general assembly (GA) and network architectureConfiguration on 3rd party protocols, ELC and SLC communicationParticipation in kick-off meetings (KOM), internal and external meetings of projectsEngaging in customer demos, FATs, SATs, and commissioning activitiesAble to do process testing of ECMS functionsHaving experience with a variety of equipment and devices used in the electrical industry including generators, motors, breakers, transformers, capacitor banks, synchronisers, etcWorking knowledge of industrial standards like IEEE, IEC, NEC, and Grid codesMaintenance and updating department's Quality & HSE processes and procedures as per ISO guidelinesEnsuring 100% adherence of processes in all projectsDistributing the engineering work to system integrators; making adequate follow-up for completion of project within budget, on/before time and with qualityAssisting manager for tracking of utilization targets and preparing MORsField Services: Preparing site execution plans with help of project managerLeading the site team for Ovation system power up, redundancy and I/O testingMaintaining protocols for loop check, device check and panel chargingLeading the site team for Analog and Binary Device testing and fault findingEngaging with customer and vendors on technical aspects of site commissioning and report the progress and flags the roadblocks and challenges to site manager or project managerFault diagnosis of Ovation system, network system, and various communication interfaces like OPC, Modbus, DNP3, serial, IEC 61850, etcLoop and device checking and necessary modifications in the logics, graphics, and database as per customer/site requirementsWorking closely with engineering team for troubleshooting of HW/SW (e.g. controllers, modules, link modules etc.)ECMS commissioning for commercial operationCustomer facing and preparation of site reportCoordination with vendors and front officesWho You Are: You should be able to assume responsibility for the outcomes of others. For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, control & Instrumentation, power engineering.Six (6) to Eight (8) years of experience in electrical industry or DCS vendor company, preferably in power plant with knowledge of DCS/PLC programming / Engineering / commissioning.Excellent language and communication skills; both verbal and written.Ability to write reports & business communication.Ability to effectively present information and respond to queries from groups of managers, clients, and customers.Ability to interface with vendors & sub-contractors.Willing to travel in India and abroad.Should have good understanding of safety tools and gears, and safety guidelines of working at site.Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Process knowledge of ECMS functions.Good knowledge of ECMS components and OEMs.Good knowledge of electrical equipment like switchboards, generators, turbines, AVRs, motors, transformers, capacitors, CTs, VTs, feeders, meters, relays.Knowledge in C programming.Our Offer To You: By joining Emerson, you will be given the opportunity to make a difference through the work you do.
