As the sovereign provider of combat management systems to the Royal Australian Navy, we are responsible for the development and sustainment of Australia's combat management system capability. As part of our Naval Combat Systems (NCS) group, the Team Lead – Configuration Management (CM) will lead a small team that:Champions CM practices and processes across NCS, in particular CM planning, Baseline Definition, Baseline Establishment, and Change ManagementSupports the adoption of CM practices, in particular supporting Project Managers (PMs) and Engineering Managers in the definition, establishment and maintenance of their task/project baselinesSupports PMs with the establishment of their Task/Project Information set-upSupports Product Group through the application of CM practices, in particular support of the release of software intensive systemsProvides a CM audit service to the NCS businessSupports the implementation and adoption of IFS Applications within NCS and ultimately provide a "Help Desk" Service for the utilisation of IFS.Further, the successful candidate will:Liaise, educate and champion configuration management practices and processesAuthor and maintain configuration management plans, processes and proceduresCoordinate engineering data, documentation and technical mediaFacilitate the conduct of Engineering Review Boards (ERB) and manage the outcomesFacilitate the conduct of Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and manage the outcomesParticipate in functional and physical configuration audits and associated reviewsIn consultation with engineering stakeholders, create and maintain product breakdown structures across projects and product linesPrepare and issue change status reports in accordance with configuration management plans and procedures.Your skills and experience will include:5+ years in the defence industry in a project based team or product engineering management environmentManaging complex software-intensive systems through the complete systems engineering lifecycleEffectively managing internal stakeholdersManaging and prioritising multiple complex tasks to meet deadlinesSpecialist configuration management tools and/or engineering data management systemsIFS Applications and/or Windchill PLM software (desirable).As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.About usSaab Australia is a defence, security and cyber solutions provider, specialising in the development and integration of major defence and security systems.
