Why Your Role Matters: UNSW Library is one of Australia's major research libraries, with extensive scholarly information resources, services and facilities. It serves a large population of academic and research staff and students on two campuses and affiliated research institutes. The Library serves 3 million in-person visitors and 20 million online interactions a year and features world-class collections, services, and facilities. There are three library sites including Main Library and Herbert Smith Freehills Law Library (Kensington) and the Paddington Campus Library as well as a close working relationship with the Academy Library - UNSW Canberra – Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA). The Library is a department within the Division of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic (DVCA).
The Team Coordinator, Library Learning Services plays a crucial role in leading a team dedicated to delivering high-quality information and referral services to the University community.
Reporting to the Team Leader, Library Learning Services, this position oversees a team of five direct reports, ensuring exceptional service and support for clients.
Who You Are: The ideal candidate will have skills and experience as follows: A degree from a higher education institution, with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.Demonstrated experience in providing high quality, efficient and effective client services.Demonstrated experience in leading, managing and motivating teams.Demonstrated experience in exercising initiative, judgment and decision-making within a multi-tasking role with overlapping priorities and deadlines.Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to liaise and communicate regulatory requirements to all staff.Demonstrated interpersonal and professional skills, including the ability to engage positively and maturely with clients.Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays and to work at different campuses as required.An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.Within your application, you should include a cover letter addressing the following role priorities:
