Teacher - Science - Regional Learning Specialist Branch: Secondary Schools DHS & Post-School Pathways
Division: Service Delivery - Statewide Services
Salary: Teacher, $78,397 - $113,568 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021)
Work Type: Fixed Term - Part Time, Fixed Term - Full Time
The Secondary Schools, District High Schools and Post-School Pathways Directorate is seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Science - Regional Learning Specialist for fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise from January 2025 and up to the end of December 2026.
Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The Role The Regional Learning Specialist (RLS) project supports students who are:
located at regional schoolsenrolled through the School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE)studying ATAR English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS).The RLS supplements the online classes provided by their SIDE teacher by providing senior secondary students with:
face-to-face tuitiononline fortnightly tutorials.The RLS team also builds the capacity of less experienced regional teachers of ATAR courses by sharing:
exemplary teaching and learning practices.This role includes significant travel across the state, which applicants must be able to commit to.
The successful applicant should be an expert and passionate teacher of Science committed to excellence in teaching and learning.
They should have the professional knowledge, understanding, and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school Science curriculum.
The successful applicant should be flexible, willing to work collaboratively with staff and possess strong interpersonal skills to allow connection across school communities to achieve the best outcomes for all students.
Experience in teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Science courses in Human Biology, Biology, Physics, Psychology and/or Chemistry will be highly regarded.
