Salary: Teacher, $78,397 - $113,568 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021)
This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025. GSHS is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dedicated Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) teacher to join their team.
Ideally, this position requires a teacher who has excellent interpersonal skills and can foster positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including students, staff and community members.
As the successful applicant, you will ideally support ongoing improvements in pedagogy, curriculum and programming across Year 7 to Year 12 and support the development of HASS. It will be highly regarded for the successful candidate to be familiar with the Teaching for Impact Framework and have an understanding of what effective teachers believe, know, and do to enable students to succeed.
The successful candidate should possess the professional knowledge, practices, and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary HASS curriculum. The learning environment you create should be differentiated, challenging, caring and creative, while catering for a range of needs that sees all students progressing and achieving. Additionally, successful applicants should be able to utilise evidence-based teaching practices whilst employing a range of assessment and reporting methods.
You will ideally support the implementation of the school business plan, work and teach in a team environment, and be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives. Building and maintaining a positive learning environment and effective classroom management is critical to this role.
