Salary: Teacher, $78,397 - $113,568 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021)
This is a permanent full-time (1.0FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2025 Duncraig Senior High School (SHS) is situated in the north-western suburbs on the coastal strip 18 kilometres from Perth. We cater for students from Year 7 to Year 12 and are a school of high standards where the care and progress of every child is our first priority. We continue to improve our resources and facilities through the support of our Board, our parent body, and the Education Department.

Duncraig SHS is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Music Teacher. The successful applicant will ideally be a highly motivated educator, with a passion for delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs. Applicants will ideally have excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and a demonstrated ability to create classroom environments that engage, challenge and empower Music students to reach their full potential. 
In your role as Music teacher, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging secondary Music curriculum and for working in partnership with Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS) staff to coordinate our instrumental and ensemble programs. The school currently offers a Concert Band program, Classical Guitar and Jazz ensembles. The ability to deliver a Certificate II in Music for our Senior School students would be desirable but is not essential. As such, suitable applicants will ideally possess a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or be willing to obtain this qualification.
The Music teacher is a member of a dynamic and highly collaborative Arts Learning Area team. Applicants should ideally possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and the wider school community. As a member of the Arts team, applicants will work collaboratively to support extra-curricular programs and opportunities for students. 
The successful applicant will ideally be improvement focused and should be committed to their own ongoing professional development. Duncraig SHS places significant focus on the quality of the teaching and learning that takes place. The school has worked collaboratively with staff and has embedded a Teaching and Learning framework and model that supports best practice in the classroom and teacher development, which maximises student engagement and outcomes. Suitable applicants should have a genuine interest in working in collaboration with the Head of Learning Area (HOLA) to facilitate improvements in pedagogy, curriculum and student achievement across Year 7 to Year 12.
Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging ICT based technologies in the classroom is important as Duncraig SHS operates a 1:1 personal ICT device policy that is firmly embedded across all learning areas. A familiarity with online teaching and learning platforms such as SEQTA or Compass will be well regarded.
