Salary: Teacher, $78,397 - $113,568 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021)
This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 Ellenbrook Secondary College (SC) seeks to support and encourage your child by fostering a sense of self-worth, respect, and confidence. The College is excited to host a Gifted and Talented Secondary Selective Academic program, starting in Year 7. The Gifted and Talented Selective Entrance Program offered at Ellenbrook SC focuses on rigorous studies in Science, English, Mathematics, Humanities and Social Sciences. Students benefit from being exposed to a differentiated curriculum designed to stimulate and develop the individual's skills in inquiry, analytical and critical thinking, communication, and creativity.
The successful applicant will ideally be a reflective practitioner with capacity to teach a broad spectrum of Mathematics courses from numeracy recovery programs through to Senior Secondary Australian Tertiary Admission Rank courses and be able to actively display that their pedagogy has resulted in improved outcomes and progression for their students. It would be beneficial if the applicant can display experience with, or the capacity to, support the college's explicit teaching agenda with programs such as Direct Instruction as well as concrete based learning programs like Scaffolding Numeracy in the Middle Years. Training and experience with Classroom Management Strategies would be preferred.
The successful applicant should have high expectations for all students, provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their potential and display a commitment to excellence. The applicant should also be highly proficient in motivating and engaging students, and promoting a positive, active learning environment.
Contributing to an effective team that collaborates with, and supports one another, while displaying the ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students, parents/caregivers and staff is desirable. The Mathematics Learning Area is actively involved in several extra-curricular, curriculum-based initiatives including, homework classes, extension programs with feeder primary schools and a range of Mathematics competitions and online activities.
