We are seeking to employ a dedicated, relationship-focused, and highly effective Learning Support Coordinator who can provide excellent care, support and progress monitoring of students with learning support needs. The successful applicant will possess excellent interpersonal skills and will enjoy being part of a collaborative and connected team who are united by a strong shared vision to achieve successful outcomes for every student in our care.This position would ideally suit (but is not limited to) a passionate primary or secondary teacher with experience in teaching students with learning support needs. The Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) will work collaboratively with the School Leadership team to provide a positive and inclusive educational environment that provides additional support for individual students with Autism Spectrum disorder (ASD) and other complex learning needs. As the leader of learning support across the College, you will work in partnership with teachers and Education Assistants (EAs) to ensure teaching and learning adjustments for students with disabilities and learning difficulties are implemented across the curriculum to meet individual student needs. As part of the LSC role you will work with other school leaders to facilitate, develop, and deliver appropriate professional learning that will build the knowledge and skills of teachers to effectively teach students with ASD and other complex learning needs. In your LSC role you will lead the collective effort to ensure differentiation is embedded in an authentic and effective way across the College to maximise the educational outcomes of students with learning support needs both diagnosed and imputed.CLC located in Lakelands, a south western suburb of Perth in the City of Mandurah, opened in 2019 and caters for students in Year 7-12. We are a fast growing and innovative college which includes an Inclusive Education hub for students with moderate to severe and profound disabilities and cater for students in Years 7-12 by 2024 across the college.The LSC will also have a hands-on role in leading teachers to develop and implement curriculum, teaching and learning in the College's mainstream context and work in collaboration with the LSC in charge of our Integrated Learning Program. A high level of interpersonal skills and drive, with the ability to establish and maintain networks, both internally and externally, will be highly regarded. The successful applicant should have the ability to foster positive relationships with all key stakeholders and to provide timely and appropriate support to students, staff, and families, using a case management model.A large portion of this role will require exceptional organisational skills, including the ability to manage time effectively, prioritise, keep accurate records and the ability to analyse data to inform planning and practice that improves outcomes for students. The ideal candidate for this position would possess knowledge and skills in some or all of the areas below:Contemporary, evidence-based practices related to ASD and various learning disabilities and learning difficulties.Leading the school-wide Individual Education Plan (IEP) process, development, and review of IEPs.
