The Role Geographe Primary School (PS) is seeking a passionate Languages Other Than English (LOTE) - Auslan Teacher to join their friendly team.
Auslan as a LOTE provides authentic, purposeful, and meaningful opportunities for mainstream students to converse and interact with their hearing-impaired peers.
It also develops and enhances their understanding of cultural issues and social norms in the Deaf community, encouraging the values of tolerance and inclusion.
The successful applicant will be motivated, flexible, and innovative and display outstanding interpersonal skills.
They will actively collaborate and support their colleagues in a culture of self-reflection and lifelong learning.
It is expected that successful applicants hold experience in a wide repertoire of suitable classroom management strategies.
It is also desirable that the successful applicant understands the Positive Behaviour Framework and that they have sound behaviour management skills.
The successful applicant will ideally possess strong professional knowledge, experience, and expertise, as well as the ability to inspire students to develop a passion for learning AUSLAN in an engaging and supportive classroom.
They should exhibit an ongoing commitment to professional growth and development aligned to quality outcomes for students.
