In return for higher levels of self-responsibility, thestudents can enjoy some greater freedoms.The successful applicant will work with Indie College students one-on-one or in small groups to deliver the VCE Vocational Major/Victorian Pathways Certificate. This is a non-traditional teaching role with a strong focus on re-engaging students who have not experienced success in traditional learning settings.In 2024 our first year out salary for a 4 or 5 year trained teacher is $95,593 and $99,103 base plus superannuation respectively and this increases with experience to the top of the scale at $123,690. Key duties of the teacher may include but are not limited to:Writing curriculum that provides adjustments for students (this requires an understanding of Victorian curricula; understanding of the Victorian Curriculum F-10 will be highly regarded)Planning, writing and delivering structured lessons that differentiate and personalise the learning for each studentEmbedding best practice pedagogy into lesson plans to engage students.Working collaboratively in a small team to implement feedback.Embracing opportunities to participate in coaching and mentoring programs.Supporting students with a range of learning needs, including disabilities, behavioural disturbances, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, low levels of literacy/numeracy, and mental illness.
