Time Remaining 12 days Teacher - Humanities and Social Sciences Regional Learning Specialist Branch: Secondary Schools DHS & Post-School Pathways Division: Service Delivery - Statewide Services Salary: Teacher, $78,397 - $113,568 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021) Work Type: Fixed Term - Part Time, Fixed Term - Full Time The Secondary Schools, District High Schools and Post-School Pathways Directorate is seeking to establish a pool of Teachers - Humanities and Social Sciences Regional Learning Specialists for fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise from January 2025 and up to the end of December 2026.
Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The Role The Regional Learning Specialist (RLS) project supports students who are: located at regional schools enrolled through the School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) studying ATAR English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS).
The RLS supplements the online classes provided by their SIDE teacher by providing senior secondary students with: face-to-face tuition online fortnightly tutorials.
The RLS team also build the capacity of less experienced regional teachers of ATAR courses by sharing: exemplary teaching and learning practices.
This role includes significant travel across the state, which applicants must be able to commit to.
Suitable applicants should be expert and passionate teachers of HASS, committed to excellence in teaching and learning.
They should have the professional knowledge, understanding, and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school HASS curriculum.
Suitable applicants should be flexible, willing to work collaboratively with staff and possess strong interpersonal skills to allow connection across school communities to achieve the best outcomes for all students.
Experience in teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) HASS courses will be highly regarded.
The Secondary Schools, District High Schools and Post-School Pathways Directorate provides coordinated expertise to regions and secondary schools identified as requiring support.
It provides responsive support for Vocational Education and Training (VET), workplace learning and career development.
It also provides strategic advice and subject matter expertise to schools, regions and the system in relation to secondary and district high school VET provision with a focus on providing meaningful post-school pathways for students.
