Details of the offer

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 At Pemberton District High School (PDHS), we are driven by our firm belief in the capacity for all students to achieve success.
We treat each student as an individual and tailor educational programs to celebrate their strengths and extend their potential.
Our students are enthusiastic learners with inquisitive minds and caring natures.
They are recognised across the community for their responsible and respectful approach, seeking out and successfully facing challenges with positivity and self-belief, truly embodying our school values of Choose Respect, Be Resilient and Challenge Yourself.
PDHS's priorities focus on student progress and achievement, teaching quality, learning environments, and partnerships and relationships.
While we provide all the academic opportunities and standards of a large school, it is our small size that so successfully promotes the development of well-rounded young people.
As a Positive Behaviour Support school (PBS), our friendly and respectful culture is reflected within all classrooms, where eager and focused students are well supported by passionate and dedicated teachers.
Behavioural issues are minimal, allowing students and teachers to focus on the core business of learning.
Educational success is measured by more than just academic results and we aim to meet the emotional, physical and social needs of all students.
At PDHS we believe this is best achieved through positive partnerships between school and home.
Teachers know each family individually and maintain clear and consistent communication within this vital relationship.
The Role Pemberton District High School is seeking a talented and resourceful Secondary Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) teacher to join our collaborative and positive team.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic and dedicated HASS specialist with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
We are seeking a teacher who is highly reflective about their teaching practice and committed to evidence-based decision making.
Applicants require proven knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and demonstrated experience in utilising high impact teaching strategies within the classroom.
A capacity and willingness to lead the development and delivery of Secondary elective courses and/or teach outside the HASS learning area within the K-10 setting would be viewed favourably, particularly within the contexts of the Arts, Technologies, and/or Health and Physical Education.
Applicants need to demonstrate the professional knowledge, practices and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary HASS curriculum using a positive, student-focused approach, and have proven success working with students across a range of ability levels, including multi-age groups.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships, are also required.
The successful applicant will be relationship focused with a consistent and transparent classroom management approach.
They will be enthusiastic, seek opportunities for innovation and leadership, and have the proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
The successful applicant will have a proven record of engaging in whole-school improvement activities including Professional Learning Communities and school committees.
Applicants need to be willing to commit to developing shared practices that align with school priorities.
As a member of the PDHS team, you will be supported to achieve your own professional goals, and to build the capacity of colleagues, regardless of your phase of teaching.
