We are seeking to establish a pool of Home Economics Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year.
Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Duncraig Senior High School (SHS) is situated in the north-western suburbs on the coastal strip 18 kilometres from Perth.
We cater for students from Year 7 to Year 12 and are a school of high standards where the care and progress of every child is our first priority.
We continue to improve our resources and facilities through the support of our Board, our parent body, and the Education Department.

As a suitable applicant, you should use your excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide students with the highest quality curriculum delivery within the Home Economics Area.
You will ideally be skilled in instructional and curriculum design, possess a strong knowledge of Western Australian curriculum and be highly informed of the latest developments within this domain.

Suitable applicants should be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of their teaching practice and cultivate a safe and encouraging learning environment.
Applicants who set themselves and their students' high expectations, display a commitment to excellence, and use a range of pedagogies to enhance outcomes for students, will be highly regarded.
The ability to be adaptive, self-motivated, and prepared to enthusiastically embrace new opportunities will also be well regarded.

Suitable applicants will ideally have an excellent understanding of the Years 7 to 10 Western Australian Curriculum – Food Technology, Textiles and, Child Development courses.
Also, knowledge of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) Food Science and Technology and Textiles courses with the ability to successfully develop and deliver programs in this area will be advantageous.
The ability to deliver a Certificate II course would be desirable but not essential.

We are seeking teachers who are student and relationship focused, enthusiastic and innovative with the capacity to provide engaging, relevant, and meaningful experiences while catering for diverse student learning needs.
Experience with Gifted and Talented students and a displayed ability to effectively differentiate for both academic extension and Students at Educational Risk (SAER) students will be highly regarded.

Suitable applicants will ideally be improvement focused and should be committed to their own ongoing professional development.

The school has worked collaboratively with staff and have embedded a Teaching and Learning framework and model that support best practices in the classroom and teacher development, which maximise student engagement and outcomes.
Suitable applicants should have a genuine interest in working in collaboration with the Head of Learning Area (HOLA) to facilitate refinements in pedagogy, curriculum, and student achievement across Year 7 to Year 12.
