Position Details Secondary HASS Teacher – Full-time, TemporaryKearnan College is a growing Catholic school catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The College is seeking a highly motivated and innovative HASS Teacher to teach students in Years 7 - 10. This position requires someone who is enthusiastic, energetic and able to work as part of a successful team.
This is a temporary full-time position commencing 1 January 2025 and concluding 31 December 2025.
Selection Criteria The successful applicant must:
• be prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties.
• have a detailed knowledge of current curriculum developments in the HASS teaching and learning area.
• have excellent planning skills and the ability to create programs that cater for individual differences.
• have the ability to analyse and use data to inform teaching and learning practices in order to raise student levels of achievement.
• possess highly effective communication and interpersonal skills so as to engage positively with colleagues, students and parents.
• have excellent classroom management and organisational skills that create a supportive and safe environment.
• have an excellent understanding of a variety of assessment and reporting strategies and the need to provide effective and timely feedback to parents and students.
• have the capacity to be a pro-active member of a professional learning community, complying with legal, administrative and professional requirements.
• demonstrate an ability to integrate technology effectively into the daily classroom environment.
• have a preparedness to be fully involved in school activities.
Qualifications Required Bachelor of Education or equivalent.
