The Role This full-time opportunity is for a highly motivated professional with sound technical tax knowledge and attention to detail.
You will have the ability to manage, mentor and train junior staff as well as work alongside other senior accountants.
This position is not just a back-office position.
You will have lots of client contact, including phone calls and face-to-face meetings.
You will work closely with and report to our Partners.
The ideal candidate will be confident, motivated, have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work in a friendly and professional team environment.
Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in public practice and ideally be a registered tax agent.
They should be able to confidently complete complex financial statements/tax returns, manage a portfolio of clients, as well as manage the workflow of other accounting staff, whilst providing support to the Partners.
Remuneration will depend on individual experience.

Duties include: Preparing and completing complex financial statements and tax returnsPeriodic and annual tax planning work (budgeting, forecasting, tax minimisation solutions)Manage staff and their workflowManage WIP and undertake client billingLiaising with clientsLiaising with internal and external bookkeepersMentoring and training less experienced accountantsReview of tax returns and financials prepared by other staffAssist the Partners with BAS reviews in peak timesEssential Skills and Experience: Business Degree majoring in Accounting or CommerceMinimum 10 years tax experience in an Australian based accounting firmDiv 7A loans, capital gains calculations, different business structuresProven track record working on multiple clients at onceExperience working with KPIs and billing targetsIntermediate level of MS Excel spreadsheetsHigh level attention to detailA positive attitude, high degree of initiative, motivation and problem-solving abilityTech savvyQuick thinkerStrong verbal and written communication skillsCPA / CATax agent registrationAble to advise on and assist clients with Cashflow management, profit improvementSolid working knowledge of Xero and/or MYOBA sound understanding of GST treatmentExperience with preparing tax returns in Xero Practice Manager / Xero TaxExperience with preparing financials in Xero ledgerExperience advising on different entity structuresVaried client baseFlexible and friendly workplaceIn your cover letter please summarise:
