Tax Accountant

Cook and Associates is a small private family practice which has been operating for over 35 years. We pride ourselves on being a close-knit team that offer a wide range of services to our clients, including Tax and Accounting, Self-Managed Superfunds, Bookkeeping and more.

About the role We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and can efficiently take on tasks ranging from an individual tax return to fully prepared company financial statements from start to finish. The successful candidate will be involved in all facets of public practice.
This role includes:
Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, self managed superfunds and individuals.Preparing and lodging BAS & IAS Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize liabilitiesProvide expert advice on all business, tax and accounting mattersQualifications/experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field3 + years working in public practiceStrong communication skills and confidence to engage directly with clientsAbility to work autonomously, while navigating tax law and complianceAbility to manage your own workload and prioritise time effectivelyExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience with Handisoft (Access), Xero and MYOB a bonusRemuneration is competitive and based on experience.
