players involved in the SANFL Talent pathway programs.
The role exists to support players with their non-athletic endeavours and to provide support in managing the competing demands of football alongside various other pursuits including academia, culture, employment and personal development.
Key focus areas include:
Build and maintain relationships with State Talent Pathway playersUnderstand the key influencers of the player's wellbeingSupport SANFL Clubs in establishing best practice wellbeing support and programsMaximise capability of Smartabase for wellbeing reportingABOUT YOU You will bring with you a range of strategies to communicate effectively with players, families and external stakeholders.
You will possess a demonstrated understanding of adolescent athlete development and bring experience or demonstrated empathy for athlete / high performance, wellbeing frameworks, professional development in wellbeing, including a demonstrated strong understanding of case management, stakeholder relations and referral networks.
Your success in the role will be underpinned by the following:
Training or tertiary qualifications in Education, Psychology Health or related field (desirable)An approachable and accessible natureAbility to build relationships with a diverse group of stakeholdersFlexible approach to work hours as there are evening and weekend contact hoursStrong alignment to SANFL values and team workAll SANFL team members are required to hold a current DHS Working with Children CheckA well-developed understanding of safeguarding children and young people principlesTo view the position description visit sanfl.com.au/jobs

This role will be a part of our U16 and U18 Talent Programs.
Training / game day contact hours with athletes will be approx 2 evenings per week, some weekends, training camps and some interstate travel.
