The QFD provides a multi-hazard emergency response, including road crash rescue, bushfire, hazardous material, technical and vertical rescue, severe weather incidents, remote and swiftwater rescue, and provides a number of functions supporting community safety outcomes.
The department encompasses Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR), Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ), as well as the broader department which work together to pre-empt, prevent, mitigate and manage the consequences of fires and other emergencies on Queensland communities and support our large volunteer membership across the state.
The QFD is an organisation that is focused on reframing the department's relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations through the Path to Treaty, Closing the Gap and building our cultural capability.
Purpose of the roleQFR Talent Acquisition is the central point of contact for QFR's talent acquisition activities and to operationalise the attraction, selection and recruitment strategy through the effective delivery of modern and contemporary recruitment practices and services that support an inclusive, diverse and capable pool of talent to meet organisational objectives and fulfil operational requirements.
Reporting to the Executive Manager, you will be a key member of the team, contributing to the effective administration support and human resource, financial and document management duties to meet the function of the business unit.
You will support staff, set priorities, and monitor workflows to undertake work across a broad range of service delivery activities and assist the recruitment team to achieve strategic and organisational best practice recruitment and onboarding campaign objectives.
Key requirementsHighly desirable requirements Knowledge or experience in the use of human resource, finance systems (i.e.
SAP / Aurion) and document management systems and reporting. Special requirements Incumbents will be required to undertake intrastate, interstate travel as required.Incumbents will be required to attend events outside of work hours to support recruitment activities.Your key accountabilitiesYour part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to:
Undertake general administrative operations and research tasks that support the effective delivery of recruitment, onboarding and campaign services.Provide highly professional customer focused services and maintain effective working relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders to support key processes, and delivery of unit outcomes.Act as the point of contact for the resolution of applicant queries, including pre-employment checks to ensure that applicants are eligible for appointment in accordance with legislative requirements.Assist with the management of candidate communication throughout the recruitment lifecycle and provide timely advice to candidates, hiring managers, and/or vendors on the recruiting process and pending needs.Prioritise workload effectively, embrace change and use initiative to resolve issues in a dynamic environment with a view to provide solutions and/or escalation to senior management for direction, ensuring compliance and the provision of quality support services.Contribute to the development, implementation and review of recruitment systems, policies and procedures that support and lead to continuous improvement and best practice standards.Ensure timely and accurate data entry of information into relevant human resource, filing systems and databases, including retrieval services for reporting purposes, whilst ensuring confidentiality of documentation is managed appropriately.Contribute to team cohesiveness and capability through participation in professional development opportunities and promotion of a positive environment respectful of the views of others.CapabilitiesTo determine your suitability for the role, you will be assessed on the following Leadership Competencies for Queensland behavioural profiles that link to the "key accountabilities" for this role:
