This Systems Engineering position will support projects within our Simulation and Training Solutions business.About the RoleThe primary function of this role is to interpret customer needs and specification documents to derive and refine system, subsystem, and assembly requirements and develop a holistic, contextually aware and verifiable solution architecture. You will ensure that the envisioned system has been specified clearly to support system development and validation in order to adequately and appropriately meet the needs of all key stakeholders.About YouThe ideal candidate will liaise with in-house or third-party engineers to develop the relevant System Engineering artefacts and prepare for the Mandated System Reviews throughout the project life cycle.Key Responsibilities:System Requirement DevelopmentInterpretation of both customer and regulatory requirements and specificationsDerivation of Functional and Performance Specifications including System Safety and Security requirementsValidated System Requirement Baseline via formal review (for example: System Requirements Review)Iterative development of Solution Architecture through functional decomposition and mapping to physical modelDerivation and maintenance of Interface Control DocumentationIdentification, analysis and mitigation of Technical RisksIntegration and Test ManagementDevelop System Integration and Test Management PlanEstablish Integration InfrastructureLead Integration and Demonstration activities from a technical perspective and provide front-line support to the PM from a logistical perspectiveAssessment (incl. formal V&V)Understand V&V test requirements and manage dependencies between Project and associated Special Test Equipment developmentsDevelop test procedures and conduct/supervise tests as needed to fulfil project objectivesDocumentDevelop and maintain critical guiding project documentation for example: Requirements Specifications, Block Diagrams, Interface Control Documents, Integration Plans, Technical Manuals, Test Procedures, Test Reports, Risk/Impact Analyses, Trade-off Analyses etc.Minimum Qualifications:Tertiary qualification in Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, or related disciplineMinimum of 5 years work experience developing and integrating systems and complex projects.Fluency in the systems engineering process and its application to the management of complexity and risk reduction.Experience working across all phases of the Systems Engineering lifecycle.Experience with authorising/reviewing technical documentation.Extensive experience in management of engineering design / technical maintenance.Strong Customer focus and excellent interpersonal skills.High-level accuracy and attention to detail.Experience with common requirements management, PLM and CM software.Familiarity with ISO 15288 (or equivalent) and its practical application in a fast-paced, new project development (NPD) environmentFamiliarity with requirements management tools (for example: Polarion, DOORS)High level of competence using the MS Office suite for documentation, analysis and presentationStrong problem-solving techniques and written / verbal communication skills.Eligibility to obtain Australian Defence Clearance.Preferably from a Defense Training System Development & Manufacturing industry.Click here to apply: https://thomasglobal.bamboohr.com/careers/24?source=aWQ9MjI%3DWorking with usOur people and culture are key to our purpose and success.
