How you'll make an impact We are seeking a Systems Engineer on a 12-month fixed term contract to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organisation's technical infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation and optimisation of our systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest infrastructure technologies.
On a day to day basis you will: Design, implementation and support of a broad range of core infrastructure technologies such as SAN, server hardware, VMWare, Citrix, Microsoft server operating systems and Active DirectoryEnsure compliance with security policies and procedures, including access controls and data protection measuresResponsibility for the establishment of effective monitoring and alerting across the infrastructure platformResponsibility for ensuring all infrastructure systems are incorporated into the relevant backup and disaster recovery frameworksInvolvement in the deployment of applications and patches across both the Windows & Linux operating system platformsParticipation in transition to support activities for key projects to ensure the successful ongoing operational support of all new systemsDevelop and maintain appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current and relevant About you We are interested in hearing from people who have: Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar roleExperience with systems and equipment from leading vendors, such as VMware, Citrix, HPE, NetApp, Rubrik and MicrosoftCertifications in Windows Server, Redhat Linux, Active Directory, VMware and Citrix are desirableStrong knowledge of system design principles, including hardware, software, and network componentsHands-on experience with system monitoring and troubleshooting toolsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWorking with us: GB values its employees and offers a friendly, comfortable working environment that facilitates a Work and Life Balance!
