About the Role *This is a Fixed Term Position until 13 December 2024*
*Great secondment opportunity* The System Administrator plays a key role in delivering the high quality systems, analyses and support required to drive operational performance improvements in public transport services across Victoria. The Systems Administrator works closely with the Transport Performance and Road Incidents Data manager and other OPA team members in collection, validation, calculation, reporting and analysis of operational performance outcomes. While focusing on the database and process administration activities required to support the OPA team objectives, the System Administrator will also be an active participant in developing understanding of performance outcomes and responding to information requests.
In consultation with the Transport Performance and Road Incidents Data Manager, deliver information systems that make effective use of the information available to DTP in a way that is cost effective to develop and maintain. In consultation with the Bus Tracking System Specialist, ensure timetable, reference and technical information from BTS source system is gathered, validated, tested and maintained in a robust and sustainable manner. With the Contracts, Commercials and Performance division, deliver systems and processes that support the development and maintenance of incentive arrangements.  Deliver operational performance analyses that are responsive to the needs of information users, and are timely, accurate and well presented. Deliver timely, accurate and well-presented internal and external operational performance reports in support of DTP's objectives. High quality data management and system administration recommendations are communicated effectively. To be successful in this role you will be experienced in analysing complex data, drawing inferences, and presenting results clearly. You will have a strong understanding of information systems, be adept at managing and testing large data volumes, and generate comprehensive reports. Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SQL is essential, along with the ability to identify key issues and provide insightful advice.
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory  Relevant tertiary qualification in an area such Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology or equivalent.
