System Safety & Technical Risk Professionals - Rail (Multiple Mid-Senior Roles) We currently have multiple requirements for mid to senior level professionals with System Engineering & Safety Assurance (SESA) or Technical Risk Management experience to join our client, a major rail company in supporting a key Victorian rail infrastructure project.
These are 6+ month contract roles, with potential for extension.
For System Safety Assurance focused roles:
Develop and maintain system safety artefacts, including safety plans, due diligence reports, and assurance reviews, ensuring compliance with SMS and RSNL.
Coordinate SRAC and lead system safety audits, briefings, and workshops with project teams and stakeholders.
Support MoC processes by evaluating the impact of new technologies, infrastructure, or procedures on safety performance.
Ensure alignment with industry regulations and rail governance standards through collaborative safety reviews with contractors and regulators.
For Technical Risk focused roles:
Develop and manage technical risk profiles, including risk registers, defect tracking, and shortfall assessments across rail operations.
Perform detailed risk assessments and provide mitigation strategies to support operational safety and project risk management.
Ensure compliance with SMS and RSNL, focusing on risk identification, hazard log maintenance, and quality control of risk artefacts.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to facilitate environmental and project risk assessments.
Skills and Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related field Experience within system safety, technical risk, governance, safety assurance or related within rail infrastructure projects Good written and spoken English language skills, including the ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels
