Cogito Group provides Level 3 support and maintenance to a federal government agency. This is the operational support unit and is currently located in Canberra, ACT.
This position is a great opportunity for someone who has a keen interest in platform design and system administration, as well as for those with these skills already and who would like to expand their knowledge to include PKI, Identity Management, and IT Security.
A successful candidate must be a self-starter, quick learner and have the ability to work independently. Being a hard worker with strong work ethic, you will be willing to work across all areas of development, integration and system administration.
Duties will involve maintaining the PKI and all supporting infrastructure. Training will be provided. This includes being responsible for a range of support tasks broadly grouped under:
Operation Support, Project/Engineering Support, Maintenance Support, and Training Support.It involves working across a range of IT disciplines related to security and assurance of information systems.
Focusing on architectural and design tasks, in particular interfacing of applications and technologies with the Identity suite and the associated identity and management controls.
Support Services shall be provided in core business hours between the hours of 8am to 5pm and will include:
Windows Active Directory and Certificate servicesUniCert PKI softwareOracle Databases and key Oracle database technologiesSafenet Hardware Security Modules(HSMs)Smartcard technologiesSmartcard MiddlewareCard Management System(CMS)Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server database technologiesCustomer/Project engagement including design and architectural servicesUnderstanding of at least one programming language with the flexibility to learn other languages to suit the operational environment, programming languages in use are Perl, C#, ASP.Net, VBScriptProvision of detailed design documentation.Routine Operation Support Services include the following:
provision of technical operation and maintenance advice and direction to Commonwealth personnel on matters relating to the equipment, firmware and software function and performance, maintenance procedures for Commonwealth personnel, spares and repair parts and maintenance consumables, and vendor or third party support;assessment of, and reporting on, user requests for enhancements;response and resolution of Incidents;determination of the cause of problems, faults, outages and degraded performance; update and deliver technical data, as required from resolving support requests, incidents, problems and maintenance activities; creation and updating of Known Error Records, Work Arounds, training manuals and materials; andability to liaise with: Original Equipment Manufacture's (OEMs) software suppliers and software support organisationsor engage support through appropriate channels.Qualifications / Experience requirements:
Degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science (or a related discipline), or equivalent work experience.Australian Citizenship is mandatory for this position, and you must undertake and maintain a security clearance during employment.Candidates with current Australian security clearance will also be preferred.Mandatory Requirements:

Location:
On client site only. No work from home.
Hours:
40-hour week (or as agreed prior to start).
Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8am – 6pm.
