YMCA Victoria Point is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Swimming and Swimming Lessons Teachers on a Casual Basis to join our team located in Victoria Point.
About the role YMCA Swimming Lessons Teachers are an essential component in the delivery of YMCA aquatic education programs and services.
These positions are required to maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of YMCA aquatic programs, educational trends and industry development.
What will my time look like? The philosophies of YMCA Aquatic Programs and ServicesThe delivery of safe, effective and professional lessonsEnsuring they are available to undertake every allocated class for a minimum of 12 monthsDelivering the highest level of service to all Learn to Swim members and their families.Am I a good match? AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water SafetyAny Swim Coaching Certifications – will be reviewedCurrent certification for First Aid, CPR, or willingness to obtainCurrently National Police CheckPositive notice Blue Card in accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000Achievement of YMCA's Safeguarding Children Training Certificate and complete annual refresher training.Demonstrated experience in a similar positionDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels, approachable mannerWhat's in it for you? You will ensure a safe aquatic area by professionally supervising the class, identifying potential risk factors and taking steps to reduce those risks, being positive role models, lifesaving and administering first aid as required, and providing excellent customer service.
