Sustainability Manager - Project Planning Health, Safety & Environment (Mining, Resources & Energy) Full time About us Properties, Facilities & Development (PF&D) plays an important role in ensuring Curtin's campuses and physical assets support the University's vision to be a recognised global leader in research, education, and engagement.
The PF&D team is responsible for delivering great places where people come first, and this position makes an important contribution to that achievement and to Curtin's decarbonisation journey.
PF&D has a significant portfolio of capital projects that require strategic facilities planning.
Projects range in complexity and size and typically involve the planning of Built Form, Urban Design and Public Realm developments.
The Opportunity An opportunity exists for a highly skilled Sustainability Manager to join our PF&D Planning team on a Fixed Term Contract.
Working closely with the Planning Portfolio Managers, Campus Planning and Space Planning, you will be responsible for leading the planning of key projects.
You will be involved in a diverse range of projects which will vary in size from small fit out projects to large planning-based activities.

Your new role The Sustainability Manager has the responsibility to advise on, oversee and contribute to the planning and monitoring the sustainability workstream of projects in accordance with the terms of PF&D's 3D Governance Structure and processes.
The role requires a strong technical skillset paired with the ability to work with a broad and diverse stakeholder base.
The successful respondent will need to have well-developed technical and people skills and be experienced in navigating situations where projects have competing requirements, and managing communications and expectations when project parameters change.
In addition, the role requires that the successful respondent will have the capacity to understand a range of technical matters, particularly in the field of sustainability and decarbonisation, and be able to use this to develop scopes of work that will result in a successful built-form project.
Experience in environmental science, sustainable development, carbon accounting, or a related discipline would be highly desirable.
Some Key Duties Develop and implement stakeholder management and liaison strategies.
Coordinate consultant procurement and contractual arrangements and assist with the management of consultants' performance and outputs.
Ensure all parties involved in the delivery of the University's Master Plan, Sustainable Development Plan and Strategic Asset Management Plan understand Curtin's commitments, including Green Star Communities requirements and Development/Design and Delivery Guidelines.
