Our client is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Lead to join their team! In this role, you will work under the overall management of the Survey Operations Team Lead to support key business initiatives, including supervising the field survey team to safely execute Site Selection, Environmental, Cultural Heritage, and other surveys in support of business requirements.
Indicative Term of Contract: 24 months Roster: 15/13 (2 on, 2 off) Note: Preferably local candidates in Chinchilla (Candidates based in BNE are also considered).
Key requirements: Leadership skills - Experience leading a small team Stakeholder management (5-10 years of experience in safety leadership) Experience in Construction in O&G/mining/resources industry Experience in surveying. Accountabilities: Lead the execution of field surveys for site selection of all infrastructure locations or scope being surveyed Supervise the field survey process and manage HSSE for all members of the survey team Identify risks and eliminate, or implement mitigation measures, for the Survey Operations Team Capitalize on potential opportunities in the field as part of surveying site selection for proposed infrastructure Ensure all stakeholders (e.g. Environment, Social Performance, Land Management, Health and Safety, Indigenous Relations, Engineering and Construction) complete the field site clearances and submit clearance reports to the Survey Operations Coordinator Compile and review documentation produced by internal stakeholder groups from the pegging party (e.g. survey sketches) Interface with all stakeholders in the Integrated Approvals process (e.g. Environment, Social Performance, Land Management, Health and Safety, Indigenous Relations, Engineering, Construction, and Operations) Work with peers to develop and continually improve processes and procedures for Survey Operations What we need: Experience coordinating and leading a multidiscipline team. Actively demonstrate HSSE commitment, manage Geomatics HSSE risks and influence decision-makers to achieve improved safety outcomes Understanding of geospatial data management and surveying practices Experience working with engineering, environment, or cultural heritage data Advanced problem-solving skills and a track record of being solution-oriented Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to challenge others constructively and negotiate with internal peers to influence decisions or ways of working Excellent team player with a pro-active and flexible attitude, and able to work in a multi-cultural environment Only candidates with the right to work in Australia will be considered (Australia Citizen, PR Holder, or Valid Australia working VISA).
