We are seeking aSuperintendent – Metal Products Maintenanceto lead the Metal Products Maintenance team.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate people leader with strong risk management skills and understanding, who can continue to drive a successful, collaborative and engaged team.
This role requires a strategic mindset for the delivery of a comprehensive Asset Management Plan for the Metal Products department, with a focus on strong asset performance through defect elimination; effective work and shutdown management processes; and efficient delivery of proactive maintenance tactics to improve asset health.

Reporting to the Manager – Metal Products,you will be Proactively improving the work environment to reduce health, safety and environmental risks to our people; Supporting your team to be the Best Operator through the continued implementation of the Safety Maturity Model and Rio Tinto Safe Production Systems; Delivering an effective asset management strategy for assets in the Metal Products department, championing an effective and efficient shutdown management process coupled with strong tactics to improve asset health; Effective collaboration with operational and technical peers to ensure team objectives and work schedules are maintained in line with production expectations; Utilising a mindset of continuous improvement, with implementation of Practical Problem Solving and deployment of a strong Defect Elimination process; Establishing and maintaining key routines and systems to ensure you are delivering your objectives and contributing to the success of the department; Working closely with Asset Management peers across site and the wider Pacific Operations group to ensure alignment to the PacOps Asset Management Strategy What you'll bring A commitment to the safety of yourself and leading a positive safety culture in your team A strong background in Work and Shutdown Management processes Experience in the maintenance of a continuous manufacturing process is recommended Excellent ability to interpret, challenge and make decisions based on data Strong Project Management skills and ability to interface with a wide range of stakeholders What we offer This role can be a 9 day fortnight or a days working week (all day shifts).

Located approximately 20 kilometres south east of Gladstone at Boyne Island on the Central Queensland coast, BSL produces around 500,000 tonnes of aluminium per annum.
Activities at BSL include manufacturing carbon anodes in the carbon plant, aluminium production (smelting) in reduction lines, and casting of molten material into aluminium products ready to ship.
The smelter is connected via a conveyor belt to the Queensland Alumina Limited refinery for the supply of alumina.
