About the role Bilingual Support Workers are integral members of our Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) team, bringing cultural knowledge and fluency to support newly arrived humanitarian entrants to settle and orientate to life in Australia.
This position is for someone who speaks Swahili in one or more of the main dialects including Kinyarwanda and who has lived or acquired cultural understanding of the Congolese communities, their identity and experiences.
About you Understanding of the people, cultural and political history of the people of DR Congo, Rwanda and Burundi and the Swahili linguistic regions of East and Central Africa.Confidence conversing in English to other professionals in private and public settings.Understanding of the needs of humanitarian migrants who have experienced multiple and complex vulnerabilities.Demonstrated competence in using essential business software (Microsoft Office) and mobile technologies.An Australian Driver's License and Working with Children are mandatory requirements for this role.

Salary from $73,823.36 + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
