The Support Officer provides efficient and confidential administrative support to the Business Support Officer (BSO) and the regional office.
The role is required to respond to enquiries from internal and external clients, undertake record management duties, provide support with financial and human resource management processing activities, and assist management with strategic and operational planning and implementation of processes, to ensure the effective operation of the region.
ResponsibilitiesProvide high quality, confidential administrative support services to the Business Support Officer and the regional office on matters such as payroll, establishment management, employment conditions, staff absence and reporting.Assist the Regional Office in the planning and coordination of business support activities and functions for the region relating to workforce and human resources.Maintain and contribute to the development of contemporary, best practice HR management systems and processes, in accordance with QAS strategic priorities and business objectives.Comply with departmental administrative, human resource and financial standards and timeframes and ensure all related activities are conducted in line with QAS policies and procedures.Research and prepare a wide range of correspondence, reports and documentation, ensuring compliance with the departmental style guide and relevant timeframes.Maintain a sound knowledge of current HR legislation, awards, certified agreements, directives, policies and procedures and provide accurate and timely advice on basic employee relations matters.Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that any information required is provided in a timely and accurate manner.Contribute to review and compliance activities relating to financial and human resource administrative requirements.
Evaluate administrative systems and processes and recommend business improvements that may ensure better system functionality and enhance service delivery.In consultation with the Business Support Officer, Manager Workforce and Senior Human Resources Consultant, coordinate meetings and events and undertake relevant secretariat duties in line with relevant QAS policies and procedures.Ensure the security and confidentiality of documentation is managed appropriately and regional electronic filing systems are operating effectively.Adhere to QAS policies and procedures at all times and escalate any identified issues to the relevant manager.Actively demonstrate and promote the QAS's approach of zero tolerance towards violence and commit to supporting those affected by domestic and family violence in accordance with QAS policies and mechanisms.
