Let's talk about nib Thrive nib's vision is better health and wellbeing for all Australians. We know there are few greater opportunities for us to have a meaningful social impact than in keeping people healthy, and now, in supporting people with disabilities. We plan to do this through innovative, human and digital solutions to make a difference to people who seek convenience, accessibility and inclusion.
nib Thrive is the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) business for the nib Group. In November 2022, nib acquired its first registered NDIS Plan Manager, since then we have continued to grow, and we have now expanded into Support Coordination. nib Thrive currently supports more than 39,000 NDIS participants and is on track to reach its goal of supporting at least 50,000 participants by FY25.
Let's talk about diversity, equity and inclusion We embrace a flexible working environment and welcome candidates that reflect the diversity of the communities in which we operate. We actively encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people living with disability, LGBTQIA+ as well as culturally diverse community members to apply for open roles.
nib Group is committed to creating an accessible recruitment process and employment experience. If you identify as a person living with disability and require adjustments to our online application, recruitment, selection and/or assessment process, please contact us at
Let's talk about this role The Support Coordinator is dedicated to assisting NDIS participants in the coordination and implementation of all supports outlined in their funded plans. This includes informal, mainstream, community, and NDIS-funded supports. The primary objectives of this role are:
Strengthen and enhance the participant's ability to coordinate supports, participate in the community, and ensure the delivery of their plan within the allocated budget, maximising value for money for services received. Ensure mainstream services such as housing, education, justice, and health meet their obligations to the participant. Build the participant's capacity to achieve greater independence and self-direct their services and supports in the long term. Support the participant in managing crises and building resilience. Provide the participant and the NDIA with reports on outcomes and success indicators, adhering to the agreed reporting frequency. Develop and implement solutions and strategies that enable the participant to achieve their goals and enhance the participant's inclusion in their community. Let's talk about you You are a knowledgeable professional who is currently working as a Support Coordinator. With your experience and a strong understanding of the National Standards for Disability Services, you excel in risk management, personal planning, and implementing strategies that promote inclusion.
Your excellent communication skills enable you to effectively engage with participants and their families, providing support within the NDIS framework. You are proactive, creative, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team, with strong coordination skills and problem-solving abilities.
Organised and efficient, you thrive in high-volume environments, consistently delivering high-quality plans, reports, and solutions. Your commitment to dignity, respect, and empowerment drives your work, making you a valuable support for your participant.
At nib, we recognise that some people may only apply when their education, skills and/or experiences are identical to what an employer is looking for in a candidate.
