We are now seeking a Superintendent: Social Performance and Risk to join our Sustainability team. Accountable to the Manager: Environment, Social and Governance, this role is accountable to drive our commitment to creating lasting positive impact while advancing business objectives, minimising risk, and ensuring our operations not only meet but exceed ethical standards and community expectations.
This leader sees and understands interconnections and interdependence between stakeholders and develops and implements strategies that strengthen community relationships, particularly with Indigenous and non-Indigenous stakeholders. The role involves systems thinking, engaging, and energising people, and delivery results in the establishment of robust social performance frameworks and governance processes that both protect and enhance our social license to operate.
Accountabilities:
Manage community relations initiatives, ensuring our presence contributes positively to local communities and addresses their needs to the greatest extent practicable.Proactively manage the incorporation of social performance and risk management within the mining operations and Exploration work plans, with sign-off by site General Managers and VP Sustainability.Manage the Social Performance budget to achieve targets in terms of the defined outputs, operating costs, capital costs and timelines.Foster relationships with Indigenous and non-Indigenous stakeholders including Native Title holders, Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, Non-Government Organisations (NGOs), government agencies, and advocacy groups to understand opportunities and issues and collaborate on positive outcomes.Review gap assessment to identify any Governance deficiencies across the Sustainability function and develop an improvement plan with specific responsibilities, accountabilities, and timelines for delivery.Understand the complex interdependencies between people, processes, business and system factors that create risk, coordinating implementation of the AGA Risk and Reporting Strategy for the Australia region, and providing support to operational HSE Risk management processes.About You

A strong commitment towards leading a safe work culture.Hold a bachelor's degree in Social Discipline, or a related field.7+ years in Social & Governance discipline.5+ years in Risk Management with operational experience.2+ years as a Lead or industry equivalent.Understanding of mining operations in Australia.Understanding of Australian governance framework.Proven experience in social governance, community relations, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the Australian and Global context.High level of understanding of ESG Reporting and Governance requirements and the systems and processes to capture the data.Data management to enable analyses of Human Rights performance and social issues and advise on appropriate strategies.Broad Understanding of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.High level of understanding of Risk Management.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.Have existing and ongoing valid Australian working rights (Mandatory).Culture And Benefits
