Student Wellbeing Officer - St Agnes' Primary School, Port MacquariePart time temporary position 10 hours per week spread across three days (3, 3, 4) commencing 31 January 2025 until 26 January 2028This position is offered over a three-year contract and is dependent upon NSWP funding.
Applicants must: hold a valid NSW Working with Children Checkhold a minimum qualification or qualifications, equivalent to or higher than, a Certificate IV as determined by the States, and this qualification or qualifications must include competencies in both:mental health and making appropriate referrals;providing pastoral care, and/or working with youth.Persons holding a formal qualification (Certificate IV or above) in a related field (eg, Theology/ Nursing/Policing, etc) which includes components dealing with mental health and client referrals are deemed to meet the minimum qualifications.
Teachers, social workers, counsellors or psychologists in training are also deemed to meet the minimum qualifications.
Applicants with a teaching degree meet the qualifications but will not be remunerated as a teacher.
Applicants are required to complete the professional learning package in responding to and preventing cyberbullying delivered by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner within three months of commencing NSWP services and refresh this professional learning at least once every two and a half years.Criteria: Experience in providing support to children and/or young people to address social and emotional needsAbility to support schools and teachers in identifying and developing educational, social and emotional programs to support children and young people who are vulnerable or at riskAbility to liaise with community service organisationsWell-developed organisational and time management skills with the capacity to work effectively both independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary pastoral care teamHave a demonstrated commitment to personal faith practiceYour application should address the above criteria including the nomination of two (2) referees including a Parish Priest, Priest or Minister.
