The College is comprised of two junior campuses (Years 7-10) in Kings Park and Sydenham and a senior campus (Years 11-12) at Delahey. We have a student population of approximately 1,900, with 180 (EFT) teaching staff, 70 (EFT) Education Support Staff and 7 Principal Class personnel. The SFOE for the College is 0.58, indicating a significant level of social disadvantage.The College is culturally diverse, reflecting our community, with approximately 40% of our students coming from a Language Background other than English. Improving numeracy, literacy and wellbeing are also key foci for all teachers.Copperfield College is a large provider of VET in Schools and a key member of the Brimbank VET Cluster. We are the lead school in a Technical Trade Centre, hosting VET Automotive, VET Electrotechnology and a range of other VET subjects. The College also emphasises the importance of a robust co-curricular and student leadership program. Copperfield College has a strong International Student Program. English as an Additional Language (EAL) is taught at all campuses as are Italian and Japanese, the LOTEs we provide to our students. Japanese is supported by a 20+ year old sister school relationship with Fuji Junior High School in Japan.The positions advertised are not tagged to a particular campus. Employees at Copperfield are placed according to student learning needs and every year have the opportunity to request campus changes.Selection CriteriaAbility to implement a range of small group and whole-school mental health prevention and promotion activities aimed at improving student mental health and wellbeing.Demonstrated ability to input into the development, implementation and evaluation of processes and strategies aimed at enhancing mental health and wellbeing prevention, promotion and early intervention.Demonstrated experience in assessing, conceptualising and analysing wellbeing issues, and providing evidence-based direct counselling support to students with a range of mental health needs.Demonstrated experience in coordinating supports for young people with complex needs including referrals to a range of specialist services as appropriate.Highly developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of people.Clear understanding of legislative requirements regarding privacy of health information.RoleProvide high quality case management and support to Copperfield students.Collaborate with school staff, Student Support Services, and support agencies to develop and implement a range of programs and interventions with students and the school community that foster resilience, improve attendance and respond to identified social, emotional and educational needs.Contribute to the development of strategic interventions that support capacity building related to student learning, engagement and wellbeing consistent with the priorities of the school.Provide collaborative support to a multi-disciplinary professional team that provides wellbeing support to students.Work as a key member of the whole College Wellbeing Team to ensure uniformity of action and purpose across the college in matters relating to student wellbeing.ResponsibilitiesProvide professional reports requiring in-depth factual analysis, including assessments and recommendations for consideration by others.Collaborate with other allied health staff to influence management and other professional colleagues in respect to strategies.Guide decisions on complex intervention strategies that may have significant consequences for clients and their families.Provide expert advice in the professional field, which will influence the strategic approach to student support and learning.Provide professional advice and support to principals, school staff and school communities that will enhance the learning, development and wellbeing of students, particularly those who are most vulnerable.Participate in staff support, supervision, learning and development and knowledge sharing activities as a professional member of a multidisciplinary team.Work with the Principal and Leadership teams to support student's learning.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.EEO AND OHS CommitmentApplicants seeking part-time employment are encouraged to apply for any teaching service position and, if they are the successful candidate, request a reduced time fraction.
