As a Student Wellbeing Advisor, you will offer specialist support while addressing and resolving complex individual student issues with the aim of improving student retention.In this role, you will provide confidential welfare, advisory, and referral services to students, and maintain confidential case notes in the 'Right Now' CRM system.
Additionally, you will advise students on academic policies and guidelines, provide early intervention support for at-risk students, and produce regular reports on student issues and usage statistics.We are looking for (the ideal candidate):Completion of degree within the Social, Health Sciences or Humanities fields and subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training.Highly developed oral and written communication skills with cross-cultural sensitivity and awareness.Knowledge of operating a face-to-face, telephone and email-based support service with the ability to assess the needs of distressed, vulnerable, and at-risk students.Experience in responding to disclosures of sexual assault and sexual harassment and with University Australia's 'Respect Now Always' campaign are desirable.Role Requirements:As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin's satisfaction.About Curtin UniversityWe are an energetic, dedicated team of academics and professionals working together to provide global solutions through quality graduates and innovative research.
