Salary sacrificing options amongst a range of employee benefits Be part of a supportive organisation with a people focused culture About the Role The purpose of this role, internally known as Defence Industry Engagement Advisor, is to work across the Defence Industry sector in Western Australia, facilitating connections between Curtin University science and engineering students and the WA Defence industry to create career and work exposure opportunities.
You will create and coordinate career events, excursions and other initiatives, utilising networks and industry connections to expose students to beneficial career pathways when they graduate.
You will also work with industry and employers identifying cadetship, graduate roles and work placement opportunities, bolstering support for our Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team.
This is a  full-time, maximum term contract ending 07 August 2026,  based at Curtin University (Bentley).
Key responsibilities include: Extending networks through the WA Defence Sector, liaising with the Employers, Business Leaders, and Industry Experts Organising and delivering tailored and innovative career pathway events, activities and opportunities for students Engaging with students, faculty and other stakeholders to determine career interests, feedback and insights Building strong relationships with CCIWA, our Key Client and high-level leaders on campus Working with employers to identify graduate placement opportunities   About You    To be successful in this role, you will have: Knowledge of WA's Defence Sector, preferably with an established network of contacts (desirable, but not essential) Experience in organising and hosting network events, webinars, and career initiatives Strong verbal and written communication skills Competent in the use of Microsoft office applications Well-developed organisational skills Ability to work independently or within a team Cert IV or above in Career Development or similar qualification Police Clearance Drivers Licence Working with Children Check This role may require an Australian Security Clearance, therefore Australian citizenship is essential   About CCIWA CCIWA is an independent, not-for-profit, Member-based organisation that has been committed to advancing trade and commerce in WA for more than 130 years.
