As a Structural Steel Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for structural steel fabrication projects.
This position is ideal for trade-qualified candidates looking to transition into an estimation role or for experienced estimators ready to take on a new challenge.
Collaborating with senior estimators, project managers, and the Sales Manager, you'll contribute to projects ranging from commercial builds and government contracts to large-scale infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing: Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for structural steel projects, including materials, labour, and project requirementsCollaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather and validate pricing informationContribute to tender submissions and ensure that estimates are competitive and comprehensiveWork closely with the project delivery team to ensure smooth handovers and exceptional client satisfactionReview and interpret project plans, structural drawings, and technical specifications to determine scope and requirementsMaintain and update records of estimates, budgets, and project cost historiesMonitor and track project costs during execution, ensuring adherence to budgetsEnsure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements throughout the estimation processWhat We're Looking For Proven experience in heavy steel fabrication estimatingStrong knowledge of steel design, fabrication processes, and industry standardsAbility to interpret engineering, architectural drawings, and CAD models with precisionQualifications such as:Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or similarBachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural EngineeringProject Management experience in heavy fabricationExceptional communication, problem-solving, and organisational skillsAbility to adapt to a dynamic work environment and changing schedulesWhy Our Client?
