They have a reputation for innovation, quality, and excellence throughout Australia and are looking for a skilled Structural Fabricator/Boilermaker to join their team.
Your Role
Reporting to the workshop supervisor, you will be able to work independently and within a team to accurately produce products to the highest standard. You will have a minimum of 3 years experience and will be able to:
Fabricate: Accurately select materials and fittings to drawing requirements.Accurately measure using steel tape measures to mark, with engineers chalk, given dimensions on detailed drawings.Accurately hole members.Accurately select and tack weld fittings.Accurately hard stamp members where indicated.Use ink markers to identify job number & paint system.Welding: Check tack welded members for compliance to shop drawings.Achieve AS1554.1 welding standard & correct weld size.Use anti spatter medium, de-bur fittings/materials and clean weld spatter.Cutting: Execute proper and safe use of mechanical machines and thermal cutting tools.Grinders: Proper and safe use of bench grinders.Safe use of 230 & 125mm angle grinders to grind, prepare weld penetrations & de-bur materials and fittings.Cranage: Competently use electric overhead cranes.Proper selection and use of chain, wire, and fibre slings.Safely use crane for travel or rotation of materials.Loading: Assist in leading completed products on transport.Assist in safe handling of materials.Work Area: Maintain clean and clear work areas.Report defective or damaged tools or leads.Turn off power points and gas points at end of shift.Care for company tools and equipment.Return tools, equipment & materials to correct locations. This role is full-time Monday - Friday and is located in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide. The salary is commensurate with skills and experience.
About you Ability to fully understand detailed drawings, specifications, and member types.Good mathematical skills.Mark out, cut, bend, shape, and drill or punch steel components.Oxy cutting steel members to length and shape.Cutting and marking using cropping machines.High level of knowledge to fit and assemble components together in its final position using MIG welding process.Ability to complete weld testing to AS1554.1 SP/GP.Completion of formalized, structured training in relation to Structural Steel Fabrication. Post-training employment of at least 3 years as a Structural Steel Tradesperson.What to do now
