Your New Position:
As the Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing structural engineering projects. You will oversee the design, assessment, planning, and execution of a wide range of projects, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality results. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on clients and communities while working with a dynamic team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead project management efforts from initial scope and fee proposal through to successful completion and invoicing. Offer valuable insights to senior management aimed at optimizing workflows, enhancing systems, and seizing commercial opportunities. Collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders daily to surpass expectations with innovative, practical solutions aligned with the corporate mission. Foster strong, professional relationships with team members, suppliers, and clients alike. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, ensuring adherence to quality standards, client needs, and industry regulations. Take ownership of project delivery and nurture ongoing client and stakeholder relationships. Actively engage in team meetings to contribute expertise and support. Coordinate with leadership on project resourcing and delivery strategies. Support the design and drafting team in maximizing the company's design capabilities and achieving performance objectives. Deliver projects on time and within allocated budgets.
Technical Expertise:
Expertise as a structural design engineer for industrial and/or commercial, Design of multiple projects of varying size and complexity. Complete preliminary and final designs using appropriate building codes, design standards, specifications, procedures, and software. Check and validate requirements supplied in the contract information. Work with engineers and drafters to ensure clear and concise documentation of the structural design. A sound practical ability of project scope, time, and cost requirements to meet objectives. Recommend solutions to design issues that will improve efficiencies. Provide technical responses to client queries. Perform site inspections to inspect conformity with the design. Attendance at design meetings as required. Project management and contract administration. Perform investigative work on-site for structural assessment purposes.
Key Outcomes for Successful Performance:
Completing structural engineering projects within reasonable and consistent turnaround times. Increase client satisfaction through delivering high-quality reports and solutions. Implement innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges, resulting in improved project outcomes.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline. Hands-on experience as a structural design engineer for industrial, and/or commercial projects within Australia. Experience with Forensic / Remedial Engineer a bonus. Experience using structural analysis and design software. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong time management and prioritization skills. Full work rights.
