We bring out the best in each other, inspiring performance and a shared belief that what we do matters.Our Lihir operation in Reliability, Planning, Compliance is now recruiting for the position of Senior Engineer - Mechanical ReliabilityThe role will have the following responsibilities but are not limited to:Ensures personal and team compliance with all company HSE requirements & policies including Fitness for WorkPerforms loss accounting and analysis and develops and/or implements improvement strategies to mitigate or eliminate prerational risk.Performs analysis of asset maintenance strategies and tactics to provide optimum asset availability in consideration of the current operating context and associated criticality of the assets.Assigns and reviews condition monitoring activities utilising a variety of techniques to determine asset performance and potential defect development.Lead and conduct root cause failure investigations based on agreed triggers and develop/implement or manage corrective actions.Manages formal defect elimination (DE) work process to identify, analyse and solve chronic asset or process performance defects.Undertakes reliability and statistical analysis activities to provide transparent measure/s of asset dependability, and performance, and identify gaps between the current state and the desired state.Maintains register of Classified Plant and ensures statutory compliance by the PNG Mines Act, Australian OH&S Act and Regulations or other relevant legislative requirements.Works in accordance with PNG Mine Safety Act, Newcrest Safety System, Safety Policies and Procedures and Newcrest Environment policies and all departmental operating procedures.Tertiary qualification in Engineering essential and accreditation from the Institute of Engineers PNG Inc. and will becompleted as part of employment process.Valid Driver's License.Holds a technical skillset in data analytics / statistics / probability or is willing to attain. Good diagnostic skills and experience with utilising Pl process book, and Excel add-ons to monitor plant data.7+ years relevant work experienceExtensive knowledge of condition monitoring, failure analysis and reliability engineeringPrevious experience working in a remote location.Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communication and public speaking skills.Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.Relevant industry qualification in Root Cause Analysis; Reliability Centred Maintenance; CMRP or AINDT certificationsCertifications in Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Ultrasound, NDT technologiesExperience in maintenance execution or work management role highlyWorkplace Training and Assessment knowledgeOur Commitment to YouNewmont is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
