About the PositionThe Strategic Land Use Planner will work on a range of land use planning tasks in accordance with Council's Operational Plan, Local Strategic Planning Statement, and priorities set by the NSW Government, including planning studies, Planning Instrument reviews, Planning Proposals lodged to support new development, and engagement with State Government Agencies.

About YouA Bachelor's Degree in Town Planning, Urban Design, or related discipline and relevant industry experience.Contemporary industry knowledge and demonstrated experience in the preparation and review of strategic planning studies, local environmental plans and/or development control plans within the Local Government and/or urban development contexts.Minimum 3 years experience in a planning-related role.Contemporary working knowledge of relevant legislation, including but not limited to the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979.Ability and commitment to providing quality customer service.Demonstrated ability to prepare reports, communicate clearly in writing and verbally, including the ability to resolve conflict and negotiate agreed outcomes.Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team, fostering an environment based on teamwork and collaboration, within a multidisciplinary environment.Demonstrated experience and/or capability to deliver the Job Specific Key Accountabilities (outlined in the Position Description).Demonstrated developed key capabilities as defined in the Key Capabilities Table (outlined in the Position Description).We OfferPermanent full time, 35 hours per weekSalary from $90,633 to $101,793 per year (depending on qualifications, skills, and experience) plus 11.5% superannuationTraining Courses + Professional DevelopmentFlexible work arrangements with access to Indoor Accrued Time (Flexi)40% discount on yearly Aquatic and Fitness Centre membership for staff and families at local facility (conditions apply)Access to EAP program for employees and their immediate familyFurther Information and To ApplyFor more information on this position, please refer to the attached Position Description, Council's Careers website or contact the hiring manager Sharon Pope, Director Environment & Planning on .
